Good Afternoon Kings and Queens! I pray your day is going well and if not I encourage you to take the time out for yourself to find balance and peace. Whether that’s through music, writing, meditating or reading. Take that time. Try positive ways to find peace that will bring healing to the mind, body, & spirit.
From time to time I will be sharing my poetry with you all. My poetry is a reflection of true feelings from my personal experiences or experiences from people I have encountered.
Background: This poem is dedicated to the woman who has experienced heartache after heartache. I know you’re not crazy and there is healing waiting for you. Take as much time as you need to heal yourself first. Pain won’t last forever but you can’t move forward until you face the things that have hurt you. You are loved, adored, and stronger than you think. I’m rooting for you 💜
She’s Not Crazy
Written By:Abrokenqueen ™️
She’s not crazy
Just misunderstood
Fed up from the pain she’s endured
A heart left uncured,
Damaged goods.
She wants to do better
Knows that she could
She’s just tired
Of the cycle repeating itself.
She doesn’t know who to blame
So she reacts out of character
To keep from beating herself
Down
From what she really feels
Portraying to be hard as a rock
Hiding behind a wall of steel
Shielding what’s left
Of what her heart feels
While comforting wounds that haven’t healed
as a result of the battles she’s fought.
The truth is…
She’s a shattered shadowbox.
Trying to process too many thoughts at once
Her brain is scattered
Unsure of everything she’d known to be true
While still hoping she mattered
to you.
She’s not crazy she’s broken
Dying to reveal her scars
And let down her guard
But when asked about it, she stands there frozen
Afraid of choking
So the words are left unspoken.
Brushed your concerns off as if she has no emotion,
Another way of her coping.
So just to be sure ..
One night she reached for your phone
Trying to unlock it using different codes
from the mental notes she took.
While peeping over your shoulder in hopes you wouldn’t look,
and catch her creeping
Giving you any reason to believe
She is crazy.
When really she’s just lurking
Because she’s uncertain.
She grabbed it while you were sleeping,
But she could hear her heart beating
out her chest
And if you woke up she feared the thought of you leaving
She’s not crazy
she just needed reassurance,
From a heart that’s still grieving
Expecting the worst
But hoping for the best
So she too can finally rest
She’s not crazy
She just needed peace of mind
So she could put her past behind
And finally know for once in her life
You weren’t a complete waste of her time.
But you woke up enraged
said she’s out of line, grabbed your things before she could swallow her pride
To explain
Slamming the door in her face as you walked out
she heard you call her
Crazy.
